It can be easy to feel discomforted towards your skin when age lines become more noticeable. Dr. Rader and her team would like to help you feel more comfortable with the appearance of your skin. Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, is one of the newest technological advances in revitalizing aging, damaged skin.
What is collagen induction therapy?
Collagen induction therapy has the advantages of very minimal to no downtime and no risk of accidental thermal injury to the skin. The device creates a series of tiny micro channels into the deep epidermis and dermis of the skin, leaving surrounding healthy skin "islands" to nourish the damaged micro channels. Your body responds to these micro-channels by mounting a wound response, and begins to generate new and more amounts of the building blocks of the dermis, increasing collagen which in turn increases volume, smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, and tightens lax skin. As collagen levels are enhanced, common signs of aging skin are improved, resulting in a youthful, silkier finish.
Other conditions addressed by microneedling include treatment of hyperpigmentation, reduction in pore size, treatment of acne scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone.
How many treatments will I need?
Best results are obtained when one gets at least three treatments about 4 weeks apart, followed by a maintenance treatment once to twice a year.
